 EVE SONG Opening: 23 July 2026 at 18:00 - 13 August 2026 Participating: Various Artists Eve Songs is an interdisciplinary performance and exhibition project by visual multimedia artists and musical performers at the University of Pretoria's 2-1 Gallery.
The project is centred on Jake Heggie's song cycle Eve-Song, which reinterprets the biblical figure of Eve through a contemporary, feminist lens.
Heggie's work explores Eve as a multifaceted character, woman, (m)other, lover, child, and sage, highlighting themes of identity, passion, vulnerability, and wisdom. EVE SONG BY HAKE HEGGIE, A LECTURE RECITAL WITH AILYN NIENABER AND MARYKE SWANEPOEL.
