1960s

In 1960 Bettie Cillier-Barnard undertook a short study tour to Israel, Belgium and France in connection with tapestry art and she visited amongst others also the studios of Jean Lurcat and Picart le Doux in Paris. Her linear-oriented compositions of the fifties were replaced in the sixties by ones showing an intricate play of colour planes.
